Monday, October 15 at 10:00 am is the date for a tour\/fellowship at the famous EarthBorn Pottery\u00a0<\/u>http:\/\/earthbornpottery.net\/<\/a><\/span><\/u>\u00a0\u00a0in Leeds for SCS\/SNC Retirees and their guests.<\/p>\n

Attendees should meet at 10:00 am\u00a0at the Earthborn Pottery facility at 7575 Parkway Drive, Leeds, AL (see directions at bottom of this email or on\u00a0Earthborn website).<\/p>\n

The\u00a0tour will\u00a0last approximately 45 minutes.\u00a0\u00a0 The tour is free and does not require reservations.\u00a0However, for planning purposes please email Amy Houston at\u00a0bchgrayton@aol.com<\/a>\u00a0if you do plan to attend\u00a0<\/u><\/strong>.\u00a0 Several retirees have expressed the desire to gather for lunch on your own dime afterwards at one of\u00a0several nearby restaurants.<\/p>\n

Earthborn Pottery’s owner Tena\u00a0Payne creates\u00a0distinctive handcrafted pottery\u00a0prized by high-end restaurants and retailers nationwide.\u00a0 Tena, a former Homewood High school student, creates\u00a0unique pieces that are made for long-lasting beauty.\u00a0\u00a0 The tour includes the production area, the onsite store where pottery can be purchased, and the studios for lessons and space to create your own works.<\/p>\n

As you may know, Earthborn\u2019s client Chris Hastings, chef at\u00a0Hot and Hot Fish Club<\/span><\/u><\/a>,<\/strong>\u00a0challenged Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America on the Food Network.\u00a0 Chef Hastings commissioned Earthborn Studios to create a custom line of Iron Chef plates for his featured dishes on the show.\u00a0 Hastings credits Earthborn dishes as helping him win points for presentation that ultimately led to his win in the tight contest.\u00a0 You can see links to videos and articles in the press stories on the Earthborn Pottery website.<\/p>\n

From Atlanta: Take I-20 West to exit 140 (Leeds).\u00a0 Turn left.\u00a0 Pass through 3 traffic lights.\u00a0 We are located on the right next to Lainey\u2019s Restaurant and across from the CVS.<\/p>\n

From South Birmingham\/280: Take 119 towards Leeds.\u00a0 Turn left at Parkway Drive (a Sonic drive-thru will be on your right).\u00a0 Cross the bridge and we are on the left just past Laney\u2019s Restaurant.<\/small><\/p>\n
