SCS\/SNC Retirees and their guests met Monday, October 15 for a tour\/fellowship at the famous EarthBorn Pottery\u00a0http:\/\/earthbornpottery.net\/<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0in Leeds, Alabama.<\/p>\n

About 20 attendees enjoyed the 45 minute tour, which included the production area, the onsite store where pottery can be purchased, and the studios for lessons and space to create your own works.\u00a0 The group gathered for lunch at a local restaurant following the tour.<\/p>\n

Earthborn Pottery\u2019s owner Tena\u00a0Payne creates\u00a0distinctive handcrafted pottery\u00a0prized by high-end restaurants and retailers nationwide.\u00a0 Tena, a former Homewood High school student, creates\u00a0unique pieces that are made for long-lasting beauty.<\/p>\n

Tena was gracious to give the tour, and also to donate a bowl that will be given as a door prize at the January 14 meeting<\/p>\n

As you may know, Earthborn\u2019s client Chris Hastings, chef at\u00a0Hot and Hot Fish Club<\/a><\/u><\/strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0challenged Bobby Flay on Iron Chef America on the Food Network.\u00a0 Chef Hastings commissioned Earthborn Studios to create a custom line of Iron Chef plates for his featured dishes on the show.\u00a0 Hastings credits Earthborn dishes as helping him win points for presentation that ultimately led to his win in the tight contest.\u00a0 You can see links to videos and articles in the press stories on the Earthborn Pottery website.<\/p>\n
