Hermon Paul Cone, 97, passed away on Monday, March 7, 2022. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Rogers Cone, parents Sylvester Washington and Kate Brothers Cone, and sister Mildred ConeRyan. He is survived by daughters Anne Britt (Bo) and Lyn Cone, grandchildren Tommy Britt and ChristyBritt, sister Gail Cone Walker, and beloved nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n
He was a lifelong Baptist, singing in church choirs throughout his life. Paul served in the U.S. Navy during WWII in the Pacific theater; afterward, he attended Howard College and graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He enjoyed a long career as an electrical engineer with Southern Company Services.<\/p>\n
He loved and was\u00a0devoted to his family, who will miss him dearly. The family would like to thank DeeDee Moffett for her\u00a0devoted care.<\/p>\n
Visitation at Elmwood Chapel will be Friday, March 11, 2022, from 1-2 p.m. with graveside\u00a0service and burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
