With mixed emotions, we announce that Samuel E. Bowman of Brookhaven, MS went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 at the age of 91.<\/p>\n
Services will be Saturday, April 29, 2023 at First Baptist Church Fairhope, with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m.\u00a0 Graveside services will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2023 at Oakwood Memorial Gardens in Gardendale, AL at 2:00 p.m.<\/p>\n
Mr. Bowman is preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Spears, father, W. H. Bowman, step-mother Capitola Bowman, sister, Billie Jean Eberlan, wife, Pat Bowman and many other loved ones.<\/p>\n
He is survived by his children, Pam Hill, Eddie Bowman (Sherry), Diana Bowman; three grandchildren, Marijke, Stephen and Madesta Parry (Mike).\u00a0 Three great-grandchildren also survive him; Davin, Jazlynn and Kayley.<\/p>\n
Mr. Bowman was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Era.\u00a0 He worked for Southern Company Services in Birmingham, AL for 30 years and retired in 1986.\u00a0 He and his wife Pat enjoyed 20 years of traveling and camping.\u00a0 After that, he spent the next 15 years taking care of his wife who had Alzheimer\u2019s.\u00a0 He was very caring and devoted to her up to the very last moment, sitting beside her, holding her hand and talking to her.<\/p>\n
Sam enjoyed all sports, both actively and watching them.\u00a0 He especially loved golfing.<\/p>\n
Sam\u2019s biggest passion was serving God.\u00a0 He was a true witness right up to the end.\u00a0 At 91 he was still going to men\u2019s prayer meeting at 6:30 a.m. then going to the pier witnessing with his dear friend Jim. To know him was to love him.\u00a0 He will be missed by many.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
