\"\"<\/a>Bobby Martin Armistead went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 31, 2025. He was a member of Vestavia Hills Methodist Church. He was born on March 7, 1937 to Henry Martin Armistead and Julia Irene Yaw Armistead in Birmingham, Jefferson County, Alabama.<\/p>\n

He graduated from West End High School in 1954 and from Auburn University in 1959 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Having participated in Auburn’s ROTC program, Bobby made Captain in the Corp of Engineers, US Army.<\/p>\n

Bobby worked for Alabama Power Company and Southern Company Services for 38 years. He retired in 1992 as Manager of Power Generation Services, Alabama Power.<\/p>\n

Bobby was predeceased by his parents and his wife of 33 years, Bonnie Saunders Buchanan Armistead. He is survived by his son; Martin Nathaniel Armistead, his daughter; Suzanne Armistead Richardson (Christopher), and his stepson; Ronald Edward Buchanan, Jr. (Christy), grandchildren; Ann Martin Richardson, Jack Armistead Richardson, Bonnie Virginia Buchanan, Hillary Claire Buchanan, Maximillian Augustus Buchanan, Emma Camp-Orr, and Anderson Edward Camp.<\/p>\n

A public visitation was held on Saturday, April 19, 2025 from 10:00-11:00am in the chapel of Johns Ridout’s Elmwood Chapel located at 800 Dennison Ave. SW, Birmingham, Alabama 35211 with a funeral service following at 11:00 at Elmwood Cemetery. Reverend James L. Williams officiating. Bobby was a beloved husband, father and grandfather, uncle and friend. He was an avid photographer, gardener, and proud Auburn alum. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.<\/p>\n
