Here is an update on Plant Vogtle Units 3 & 4 construction…

Vestavia Hills, AL – Retha S. Cunningham Stevenson, age 81, of Vestavia Hills, passed away Friday, September 22, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at Tuscaloosa Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Pastor Jamil Gilleylen will officiate. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to service on Thursday at 11 A.M.

Note: This meeting was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.  The HR presentation will be presented during our Holiday luncheon at Vestavia Hill CC in November.

Our next meeting will be on Monday September 11, 2017. This will be our annual benefits presentation by Southern Company personnel.

Wayne Avant, of Hoover, passed away Friday, July 28, 2017, at the age of 77. Wayne was retired from Southern Company after more than 30 years. He was an avid Alabama Fan. He is survived by 2 daughters, Tani Self and Lori Frank; 3 grandchildren, Tab, Slater, and Sarah Grace Brazeal; and a great granddaughter, Lucy Brazeal. The family will receive friends from 2:30-3:30, Monday, July 31, 2017, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Service will follow at 3:30 PM in the chapel. Interment will be Tuesday in Hillview Memorial Cemetery in Alexandria, TN.
