Be a part of the cure for breast cancer!

Friends, family, colleagues and retirees –

I want to personally invite you to join or support Southern Nuclear’s Nukes for a Cure race team for the annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday, Oct. 15, at Linn Park in downtown Birmingham.

There are several different ways to participate or support the team:

  1. Run or walk in the 5k race.
  2. Run or walk in the 1 mile “fun run”.
  3. Sleep in. (You read that correctly – you can sleep in and still be a member of the team! A great option if you are traveling or live outside of the Birmingham area.)
  4. Donate. (Please donate to the “Nukes for a Cure” team directly!)

Please encourage your friends, family and co-workers to sign up to run or walk with us too! Even if you aren’t a Southern Nuclear employee anymore, you are still part of our family and we would love to have you on the team – the more, the merrier!

The race raises significant funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer, celebrates breast cancer survivorship and honors those who have lost their battle with the disease.

All employees and spouses who take part in Southern Lifestyle Rewards are eligible to receive $10 in their account for participating in this fitness event.

If you have questions or would like to join the team, please log on to the Komen website or contact Alison Muro at 992-6471.
