William Robert Arden Lambert Jr. Obituary
LAMBERT, William Robert Arden (Bill), Jr., born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on December 30, 1921, passed away Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the age of 95 in Titus, Alabama. He is preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Lambert, and his parents, William R. A. Lambert, Sr., and Ida Armbruster Lambert. Mr. Lambert was a graduate of the University of Michigan with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He served on Mine Sweepers in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He retired in 1983 after working 28 years with Southern Company. Survivors include his daughter, Linda Avildsen (Rick), of Orangeburg, S.C.; two sons, William R. A. Lambert, III (Ann), of Titus, Alabama, and Jon N. Lambert of Titus, Alabama; six grandchildren, Amy Agi (Rusty), Will Lambert (Julie), Amanda Avildsen (Richard), Angela Burns (Sloan), Chris Lambert (Kim), and Ken Lambert; and ten great grandchildren. Donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund, 100 West Bridge Street, Wetumpka, AL 36092, in memory of Mr. Lambert. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Wetumpka Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Yarboro officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service. Pallbearers are Will Lambert, Rusty Agi, Richard Nickel, Rick Avildsen, Chris Lambert and Ken Lambert. Interment will be at Pine View Memorial Cemetery in Wetumpka, Alabama. Wetumpka Memorial Funeral Home directing.

Carol has been at Brookwood hospital since Wednesday 2/1/2017 with congestive heart failure and pulmonary edema (fluid in her lungs).  She is recuperating slowly.

Please pray for her recovery (do not know when she will be home).

Her doctor has recommended no talking on the phone or visits.

You can send her a get well card if you would like to at her home address.

Angelina Marie Pitts Campisi

November 12, 1927 – January 7, 2017 Age 89 of Pelham, AL went to be with her Savior Jesus Christ on January 7, 2017 at 4:04 AM. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a member of Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Hoover, AL. She was a retired Southern Company employee. She was preceded by her husband, Sam Campisi and daughter, Mary Jane Serio. She is survived by her son, Sammy Campisi (Lisa), her five grandchildren, (Ashley (Trey), Michael (Brandy), Chris (Jennifer), Patrick, Matthew (Jill)), and two great-grandchildren (Nathan and Rilynn). She was a long time member of the Hoover Song Birds. She was a woman of God who actively participated at church. She loved to sing, dance, go bowling, and cook for her family. She was a loving, caring, and compassionate woman. The visitation will be at Saint Peter’s Catholic Church in Hoover, AL from 8:30 – 10:00 AM Wednesday January 11, 2017 funeral Mass will following the visitation. Burial Service will be at Elmwood Cemetery.

Our next meeting will be held on January 9, 2017 at 1:00 PM in the Horizons Conference Room, Building 42 Inverness.  Our speaker will be Edgar Nunez, Southern Power Company.  Edgar will be sharing information about Southern Power’s wind powered electric generating facilities.

Steve Corbin, age 64, passed away Tuesday, Dec 13, 2016. Steve graduated from Westover High School in Albany, Georgia and from Auburn University with a degree in electrical engineering. He retired from Southern Company after 40 years of service. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Cathy Corbin, son, Tyler Corbin (January), daughter, Casey Pate (Don Ross); 3 grandchildren, and brother, Dick Corbin (Gloria).

A gathering will be held to celebrate Steve’s life on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Ridout’s Southern Heritage Funeral Home from 5-7 pm. Flowers are appreciated; however, others mays benefit from contributions in Steve’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Jesse Stringer Vogtle, Sr., age 82, died peacefully on December 12, 2016 surrounded by his family. He was born in Birmingham, Alabama on January 22, 1934. He is the son of the late Alvin Ward Vogtle and Ollie Stringer Vogtle. Mr. Vogtle joined his client, Alabama Power Company as Vice President, and during the course of his career was selected as General Counsel, Executive Vice President, and {Bham News skipped words or his position on?…} Board of Directors. He retired from Alabama Power in 1987. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Alline Brown Vogtle, his son Jesse Stringer Vogtle, Jr. (Laura) and daughter Elizabeth Vogtle Hale, and 8 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation with family at the church will occur in the Founder’s Room at 10:00 a.m. A family burial service at Elmwood cemetery will occur before the Memorial Service. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to St. Luke’s Church, 3736 Montrose Road, Birmingham, AL 35213 or the charity of your choice.

Edward Stanley Smith, age 72, of Remlap, Alabama passed away on December 10, 2016. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War, and served for a total of 4 years. He retired from the Southern Company after 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pattie Smith; son Dr. Daron (Tammie) Smith; daughters, Darla (C.W.) Jordy and Melea (William) Kizziah; 4 grandchildren, and a great grandchild expected next week; brothers Walt (Judy) Smith and Paul (Ellen) Smith; and sisters, Loretta Cendroski and Donna (John) Vogel. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Dec 14 at Lemley Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
