Dec. 09, 1935 – May 06, 2016: Robert “Bob” Botters passed peacefully at the Hospital. He is the second son of Reuben Henry Botters and Eunice Eddins Botters. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Leigh Anne McGrady Botters, their three Sons, their families & 5 Grand Children. Children & Grandchildren are: COL (R ) Robert J. “Butch” Botters, Jr his wife Cindy Botters & their Son, 1LT Tyler Botters fianc Kim Shattuck; William L. Botters his wife Terri Botters, granddaughter Stephanie & grandson Benjamin “Ben”; COL James B. “Jim” Botters his wife Gina Botters and grandson Henry “Hank” and granddaughter Savannah. He is also survived by his Brother & Sister in Law, Richard and Kay Botters of Auburn, Ga along with their son David Botters his family & daughter Carol and her family. Bob was a veteran of the United States Air force, a graduate of the University of Alabama Engineering School, a life long Electrical Engineer with the Alabama Power Company, a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church in Bessemer now Shepard of the Valley Presbyterian in McCalla, a life long Boy Scout and Volunteer Scout Leader in the Birmingham Area Council, and a Great Dad and Granddad. Services will be held Elmwood Chapel Visitation May 9, 2017 1:00 – 2:00 PM funeral at 2:00 pm
