We’re doing something a little different for our September 9, 2019 meeting– the Colonnade room was unavailable so we are going to a NEW location just for this meeting and will have a band party also! Bring your spouse/guest and come join us, casual dress–it will be a bash you don’t want to miss!

After our regular 1:00-2:00 meeting with our annual Southern Company Benefits update and special retiree speakers, we have the fabulous band “Jay and the Elders” playing from 2:00-3:30.

“Jay and the Elders” is a local eight-piece band, playing oldies from Elvis to the Eagles. You will recognize band members SNC retiree Jim Blackmon, and APC retiree David Cooper. Come prepared to enjoy some of your favorite music and light refreshments and show your smooth moves on the dance floor (electric slide welcome too).

The 1:00 regular program kicks off with the Retiree Lifestyle Segment featuring retired Executive VP/ SoCo Generation Chief Production Officer Jerry Stewart and his lovely wife Ella Ruth, sharing their experiences riding their Harley motorcycles all over the country.

Featured speaker is George Marling, Senior Consultant in Southern Company Benefits. We are delighted to have George back with us to provide a high-level overview of the benefits program and take questions from the audience. This talk is customary before we sign up for benefits this fall and is a great way to have face-to-face discussion of any changes. We will send out a separate email for retirees to submit questions ahead of time so George can research before meeting, though of course you will be able to ask questions at the meeting also.
