Jan celebrated her 72 years of life with her husband W. Perry Stowe for 46 plus years. Jan was welcomed into God’s hands on May 24, 2020 after a brief illness. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Dr. William P. Stowe III of Mountain Brook, daughter-in-law Dr. Angela M. Stowe and their two children William P. Stowe IV (Liam) and Julia F. Stowe, son Michael B. Stowe and Christina Hendrix of Cumming, Ga., and brother David E. King ( Merrily) of Mobile, AL. After graduation from University of Montevallo with a BA and University of Arkansas with a MA , she taught in the Mountain Brook and Hoover School systems. She was a member of the Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church and the Becomers SS class. Because of the family’s concern for everyone health, there will be a private columbarium service at VHUMC on Thursday and a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
