Carolyn Sue Boggs

Carolyn Sue Boggs, age 76, of Lucedale and formerly of Birmingam, AL, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at George Regional Rehab in Lucedale, MS. Mrs. Boggs was born February 11, 1947 in Mobile, AL. She is the daughter of the late Robert William and the late Mary Katherine (Brock) Boggs. She attended B. C Rain High School, where she was a cheerleader. Around 1967, Carolyn moved to Birmingham, Alabama where she learned technical drafting and design at Jefferson State Community College. An avid softball player with city leagues in Birmingham, Carolyn enthusiastically showed her athletic spirit. She worked for over 15 years with Southern Company Services as a drafter and a designer. Carolyn dreamed of having a home with a view, and she realized that dream when she worked with an architect to design and build a glass-fronted home on the northern ridge of Red Mountain. Her view took in downtown Birmingham all the way to the airport. She retired from Southern Company Services early and went into real estate, where her vivacious personality accented her career.

A lifetime lover of animals, Carolyn retired from real estate and started her own pet sitting business, “Tails & Whiskers”. She had loyal and frequent customers as she stayed in their home with the animals that became her favorite pets. She loved other peoples’ pets as she did her own.

She is survived by one sister, Patricia Van Petten; nephew, Scott (Tiffany) Parker; grand-nieces Abigail and Addison Parker; her dear friend of 40 years, Deanna McCombs; and her current doggy, Bella.
