SNC Communications was contacted by Meg Mirshak with The Augusta Chronicle for a statement on a report that the Concerned Citizens of Shell Bluff is planning to distribute potassium iodide tablets to residents around Plant Vogtle.

Southern Nuclear’s top priority is the safety and health of the public and our employees. We maintain comprehensive emergency preparedness plans that have been developed in accordance with federal requirements by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and other oversight agencies designed to protect the health and safety of the public in the event of an emergency at any company nuclear facility.
