Flu Shots for SNC Retirees

Protect yourself and get a flu shot

Southern Nuclear Wellness will offer free on-site flu shots for all benefits-eligible employees, retirees and dependents (over age 4) who are covered by the company’s medical plan.

Flu shot clinics at Inverness will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 24,12-6 p.m. in building 40 and on Thursday, Oct. 23, 7-11 a.m. in building 42.

Dependents of employees not on the company’s medical plan and contract employees may purchase a shot for $26. Payment must be by check (no cash, credit or debit cards) to TotalWellness at the time of service.

You will need to provide your Southern Company ID number or the last four digits of your Social Security number. Parental or guardian consent is required for dependents under the age of 18 in Georgia and age 19 in Alabama. Flu shots will not be given to people with allergies to eggs or to anyone who has previously had a severe reaction to a flu shot.

For those who are unable to visit an on-site clinic, the company has partnered with CVS/Caremark to make flu shots available with no co-pay for employees, retirees and eligible dependents covered under the company’s medical plan starting Sept. 1. Participants will be able to choose from more than 52,000 pharmacies in the CVS/ Caremark network. The network is not limited to CVS locations and includes most major chains including Wal-Mart. Employees and retirees will need to present their Caremark prescription card and a valid photo ID, and are urged to call the pharmacy in advance to check availability and make an appointment (if needed).

Flu shot vouchers will be available beginning Oct. 20 for employees not covered by the company’s medical plan or are unable to visit an on-site clinic.
